Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The service was excellent, the staff was kind and professional, the hotel was super clean, and the continental breakfast was delicious with a great selection of food. However, I was so disappointed with our room. When making the reservation, I mentioned that this trip was a birthday gift for my husband and kindly asked if it would be possible to have a nice room for the occasion. I wasn’t expecting anything extravagant, but I did hope the hotel would pay a little attention to this special request. Instead, we were assigned a room on the lower ground floor, right next to the reception desk. The windows faced directly into a wall, so there was no view and no possibility of getting any fresh air. It was also difficult to sleep because of the constant noise from the nearby air conditioning units, and in the morning we could clearly hear the staff working since the room was located directly opposite the service rooms. Aside from the room assignment, everything else was very good. We truly appreciated the cleanliness, the excellent service, and the quality of the breakfast. With a better room, our stay would have been exceptional.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Stay at Hotel Metropole! My girlfriend and I stayed at Hotel Metropole during our trip to Catalina Island, and we had a great experience. The hotel is in an excellent location, within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, shops, and the ferry terminal. It made exploring Avalon very convenient. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. We especially enjoyed waking up to the beautiful island atmosphere each morning. The complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus and gave us a great start to our day. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. Their excellent service made our stay even more enjoyable. For the quality, location, breakfast, and level of service, we felt the hotel offered great value for the money. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Catalina Island. Thank you, Hotel Metropole, for helping make our trip memorable!

Loved the stay. Nice room and the balcony was a nice perk. If I had known that there are more rooms available directly through the hotel than through third party sites like Expedia, I would have chosen opted for an available better room. The morning continental breakfast was great. House keeping service was also great. Two minor complaints: (1) The air conditioner was very noisy. (2) Walk-in showers with curtains are a recipe for water on the floor. Please consider installing sliding doors.

First, we would love to give a huge shout out to Venessa at the front desk. Family and I, arrived on the island and we had 4 night reservation for another hotel. Long story short, after first one night we had to leave! I showed up at Venessa's desk telling her the story and in no time (hotel close to fully booked-summer break!), She found us a 2 queen room, got us an early complimentary check in (we've stayed at Metropole numberous time), but offered us a champagne in the room. What a hospitality! We did not expect this type of compation and problem solving, a true representative of Hotel Metropole. Now the pros: Location is amazing, navigation around the hotel or around it is perfect, close to everything, especially the breakfast shop on presmises and of course customer service. The room was exceptionally clean, I saw the service ladies actually mopping the floors after vacancy of other rooms. cons: second floor rooms overlooking the courtyard, get loud because of the shops. If you want to sleep in passed 9am, it's not happening. For some reason, shop people like to roll their garbage out either 6am or 11pm...at least when we stayed there which was June 9-12, 2026.

The hotel was very nice and clean and seemed like stepping into a second home. Sheila treated us like royalty and made our stay feel so special! Cannot recommend enough!
