This is an excellent history museum for Kitsap county. It’s a fun look into local history with interesting artifacts and stories. The space is maintained well, there is an elevator and a gift shop. No immediate parking but we were able to grab a spot on a Sunday about around the corner. It is appropriate for children, with some interactive exhibits and buttons to listen to a guide (some were not working when we visited). It’s a smaller museum so good for younger ones. Admission is free

Super cute informative little museum. Took my Special Ed class in and they were so so nice and accommodating. The kids loved walking down main street and the museum provided a scavenger hunt paper they could turn in for a sticker at the end. It doesn't take long to see everything but it's fun and cool and has some exhibits you can touch and explore. Kids enjoyed it and the staff were so kind to them.

Every single little detail matters in the showrooms and this museum nailed it! The small town of depicting older buildings was not only informative, but very lifelike. It was like looking back into time. Had a fun time, only thing that was disappointing was the telephone system exhibit was broken, but you can't blame them for that. The technology is so old that I would be genuinely shocked if you could find someone that knew how to fix it.

This is a free local museum that does an excellent job of walking the visitor through the history of Kitsap County and Bremerton. I went here with 30 minutes I had to spare while spending the day in Bremerton, and was pleasantly surprised. My favorite displays were the USS Bremerton (CA-130) silver service and the shipyard office exhibit. I also really appreciated the firefighting exhibit and 1940s switchboard. The storefronts were very well done too. I did not have time to read everything, but I enjoyed what I did read and would recommend this place to anyone visiting Bremerton that's looking for a quick, thorough taste of the area's history - especially if you're not particularly interested in the Navy Museum a few blocks away, this museum has a much broader scope while still encompassing the region's crucial ties with the Navy. Parking can be a little tough, but most of the spots should be for an hour or more and that is enough time to work through this museum, in my opinion.

Small, yet impactful little museum. It’s free, so that along is value enough, but you can tell they put effort in their displays and a lot of the showings live the door open for you to discover more on the interesting topics, at least for me. They have QR codes so you can listen privately to the audio for the display. My only criticism would be to have it all written somewhere, but I can see the argument for cramming it in the code so people don’t stop to read and start traffic in the already tight space between certain displays. There’s also a button you can press to play the audio aloud, but it feels a little inconsiderate since your audio might conflict with someone else’s, so honestly, the QR codes was probably the best choice.
