Been coming here a couple of times for their awesome happy hour. Decided to come on a Saturday morning when they first opened at 11am despite google states opens at 10am. Nicole greeted us and noticed she is a Jill of all trades. Not only is she hostess, waitress, food runner, mixologist and cashier she truly goes above and beyond. Service is stellar as well as the food. Plan on making a trip on Wednesday for their jazz show.

My daughter invited me to dinner at Romano's Macaroni Grill where we have dined and had lunch many times since the food is delicious, with superb service and a beautiful restaurant. I had my favorite from the variety of menu selections: the Chicken Parmesan which is served with pasta. I've taken photos for you to view the dish I chose and also the one my daughter selected. We were so tired from the exhausting day that this was the place to relax and enjoy our dinner. The dishes are so abundant that our server brought us boxes to go. However, I thought my daughter had taken the to go boxes and she thought that I had taken them and we found out that wasn't so as soon as we got home. That was the first that we had forgotten the doggie bag and since we didn't want to drive back to the Grill, I suggested for my daughter to call them. They were so awesome that they said they would keep it for us to pick it up the next day which we did. If you are visiting the Bay Area, you must stop by and have either lunch or dinner at Romano's Macaroni Grill which is in the East Bay Area in El Cerrito, CA. They also have an array of desserts on the menu such as the Creme Brulee, Cheese Cake, Key Lime Pie, and so on. You can bring your children for any occasion. Enjoy!

Not a whole lot in El Cerrito it's mostly a place between over there and somewhere else, that is except for Romano's Macaroni Grill. So the next time you find yourself between two places you'd rather be..look for Romano's Macaroni Grill, it's not one of those places where everyone knows your name, and its not trying to be ..and that's a good thing. But...What it is, is a place that serves honest to goodness home-cooked style food, delivered hot with a friendly smile at a reasonable price, oh and you don't have to do the dishes! What more could you ask for! 5 stars for sure! ☆☆☆☆☆

Update: As I was leaving, I spoke to the waiter that insulted me in front of another customer for asking for a clean glass. First he denied. He'd said he did not say anything but was sitting about 6 ft away from him when he mocked me . And then I said ," maybe I won't come here anymore. That was rude" he replied," I don't care if you never come here again. I don't care if your family doesn't come here or anybody you know doesn't come here anymore. I don't care." Wow! This is a restaurant that wants business????? I wish this place was at least ok because it is close to home and the atmosphere is nice. It could be a jewel. I don't mind spending an extra $20 for better food, clean glasses and some service. I always tip 25%+. June 1, 2026, tried one more time, the food portions got smaller, plates got tinny. The service got worse, in an empty restaurant. My wine glass was filthy read wine residue cemented inside a glass served with white wine. Filthy! The new waiter was mocking me because I said the glass is filthy. Out loud mocking me to another guest. The food was ok, edible. I noticed a staff change... April 2026 The food has been getting worse and worse from June 2025. No flavor, stale bread, overworked tiny staff. No reason to go anymore.

I’ve been a regular at this place for some time now, and the food quality has always been consistently great. However, during my recent visit, I did experience some service issues that I’d like to highlight. The unlimited soup and salad, which are usually a delightful part of the dining experience here, were not refilled even once throughout our meal. Additionally, the famous bread and oil, which I always look forward to, were served after the main meal, and only because I inquired about their absence. The same goes for the water service
