I had very strange experience with this office three years ago. I wanted to have a routine exam and cleaning as a new patient. They did X-ray and refused to do normal cleaning. A lady dentist insisted to do deep cleaning and price was $125 per tooth (see attached photo). I left and found another office in Berkeley. They do my teeth cleaning every half year covered by insurance and nerve mentioned about deep cleaning and my teeth all fine as a old man. I really don't want to judge them. Just compare the big difference between dentists.

I had a very disappointing experience with this dental office. Their customer service is extremely poor — it’s very difficult to get in touch with anyone, and calls often go unanswered or unreturned. On top of that, the pricing was misleading. I was initially quoted a lower out-of-pocket cost, but later received a much higher bill with the explanation that my insurance refused to pay. This was never clearly communicated upfront, which feels deceptive and unprofessional. Overall, between the lack of communication and unexpected charges, I would not recommend this place. Patients deserve transparency, reliability, and respect — all of which were lacking here.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but I feel I have to for this office. I’ve had multiple negative encounters with the front office that I’ve let slide, but after my most recent experience, I can’t ignore it anymore. The back office staff and the doctors are always very kind, polite, and friendly. Unfortunately, the front office is the complete opposite—rude, unprofessional, and completely unhelpful. It honestly feels like they put up every obstacle possible just to keep you from getting an appointment. One experience that really stood out happened last year. The doctor suggested a deep cleaning, which came with extra fees I didn’t fully understand. I scheduled a follow-up appointment but later decided to decline that treatment and requested a regular basic cleaning instead. The front office told me they wouldn’t schedule a basic cleaning because the doctor had suggested a different plan. I explained that I understood the suggestion, but I was choosing to decline it. They tried to charge me over $100 for procedures I did not want or need. When I questioned why I couldn’t receive a regular cleaning, the front desk person told me that “I’m more than welcome to look elsewhere.” So I did—I called my insurance and reported the situation. It felt like they were trying to force a treatment on me that I did not want and could not afford. More recently, I called the office to ask if they take emergency cases. Instead of answering my question, the front office repeatedly said, “We don’t take walk-ins.” I clarified multiple times that I was asking specifically about emergencies—not walk-ins—and she continued to give the same response. Again, it wasn’t just what she said, but the rude and condescending tone. The clinical team is wonderful, but the front office desperately needs training in customer service, professionalism, and basic respect for patients.
