Our family is a huge fan of all things Lego and we had a good time in the park. For starters, it was surprisingly not busy for a Sunday in late summer - but I suspect it’s because it was a really hot day. The park itself offers some shade and reprieve from the heat, but it’s still hot; so be prepared for this if it’s cooking outside! The rides themselves are catered towards a younger child - if you’ve been to Disneyland, these aren’t close to the level of immersion and production value you’d find there. For example, the immersive Ninjago ride uses similar hardware to Disney’s Spider-Man Webslingers ride, but the latter has a video intro, instructions, and gives the rider a clear idea of what to expect - Legoland doesn’t. In fact, our first time through (we rode it twice), we had no idea what to do! The new Galacticoaster was super fun, but it’s really short, noticeably so. Food options are plentiful, but the chicken I had at the BBQ place was super salty, and tasted like a Costco rotisserie that had been sitting under a heat-lamp. The chicken strips were priced reasonably for a theme park, but they too were pretty gross. To be honest, the worst thing was the build a minifig purchase - we bought this with our tickets, but that constrains you to build your minifig at one store on site; their selection is worse than most mall Lego stores (like it sucked). Instead, it’s the same price to pay to build three minifigs at any of the stores on site and you’re better off to buy on site once you or your kids see what’s available. Mini land was incredibly cool and seeing the larger real Lego structures was awesome. I wish some of the other Lego structures on site showed a piece count or made it clear whether we were looking at a real Lego creation, or a hollow Lego-like structure. Given it was the last day of the Lego festival, we were hoping for at least some entertainment options - but the shows were limited, we saw just one character on site, and for a ticket priced similar to Disneyland, the production value just wasn’t there. The good - the park was really clean, exceptionally so. Most staff were friendly too. Don’t set your expectations high, and if you’ve been to other theme parks, this just doesn’t compare.

Was a fun time and glad we got to experience this place. Overall laid back and lots of interaction. Lots to see. Great place to hang out. Lots of things to do and see. Some good food available but not cheap. Lots of fun.

Fantastic experience for the whole family! We had an absolutely amazing time at Legoland California. The park is exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and the layout is perfect for pacing out a full day without feeling completely overwhelmed. What really stood out to us was the staff—98% of the employees we interacted with were incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. The interactive building zones and the hands-on details kept everyone engaged from start to finish. It’s a wonderful, low-stress theme park experience that delivers pure fun. Highly recommend!

We visited Legoland on a peak, busy Saturday, and it is glaringly obvious how much the park's quality has declined over the years. What used to be a fun family tradition now feels like a massive money grab with zero execution. Key Breakdown of Our Experience: Sky-High Prices, Low-Value Experience: Legoland's current pricing feels like inflation on steroids. You pay premium prices for an experience that is far from premium. VIP Passes Didn't Save the Day: To maximize our time, we purchased 4 Kids Platinum VIP Passes so they could get on the rides faster. Total waste of luck and money. Three different water rides broke down while we were on them, leaving us delayed and stuck for a long time. It’s a clear sign of poor maintenance. The $40 Drink Cup Scam: Because it was a scorching hot day, we bought the "unlimited" soda/water cups for $40 each. Absolute rip-off. Most of the machines were completely out of ice, and the water/soda wasn't even cold. Paying that much for warm drinks on a hot day is completely unacceptable. Lackluster Staff: The staff used to be cheerful and exciting, adding to the theme park magic. Now? They seem completely unenthusiastic and checked out.

Overall kid friendly and had enough places with shade that it helped keep you cool from the heat. The employees were not always the most friendly so it’s a bit different than Disneyland. The rides are all pretty short. Before you know it the rides over so that was a bit disappointing for how long some of the waits were. We did get a fast pass to avoid some of that wait. As expected everything was expensive between game tickets, face painting and food but the kids ended up having a good time in the end. I thought there would be even more Lego statues or things made of legos. The kids did like how interactive some of the things were. Building the Lego boat and space ship were some of the highlights for them and my kids aren’t the biggest Lego fans in general. Ideally going on a weekday probably would have been less crowded but overall I expected more people.
