We had a very enjoyable dinner at Pacifica Del Mar. The food was fresh and delicious, and our waiter was attentive and friendly throughout the evening. We especially enjoyed the seafood pasta, scallops, oysters, mixed greens salad, and cocktails. The atmosphere was pleasant, with a nice patio and partial ocean views that made for a relaxing setting to watch the sunset. We had requested a table with a closer ocean view, and although there appeared to be some seats available, we were told those tables were fully booked. Since we were hungry and didn’t want to make an issue of it, we stayed with our assigned table. A better view would have made the experience even more memorable. One thing worth noting is that the restaurant was much easier to get into than the neighboring Monarch Ocean Pub, which had about a 90-minute wait. Pacifica Del Mar turned out to be a great alternative without sacrificing quality food or service. It’s not an overly fancy dining experience, but if you’re looking for fresh seafood, good drinks, attentive service, and a comfortable patio atmosphere in Del Mar, it’s definitely worth a visit. As a bonus, the ice cream shop downstairs had a huge line, so that may be our next stop on a future visit! Overall, a relaxing spot with good food, drinks, and service—perfect for a casual evening by the coast.

As a thriller and romance author, I always notice places with atmosphere and character, and Pacifica Del Mar has long been one of the classic fixtures in Del Mar. The restaurant sits right in Del Mar Plaza with beautiful ocean views from the outdoor deck. It’s one of my favorite spots to sit outside, enjoy the breeze, and take in the Pacific while having lunch. Pacifica has an excellent seafood selection and a menu that fits perfectly with the coastal setting. Everything feels fresh and well prepared, which makes it an easy place to return to when I’m in the area. The styling inside and out feels polished but relaxed, very much in line with the Del Mar atmosphere. The staff has always been attentive and welcoming, and the location makes it a great place to slow down for a while. As a writer, it’s also the kind of setting where you can easily imagine scenes unfolding while enjoying a great meal by the ocean.

Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere. A great place to go to celebrate special occasions. Sitting on the outdoor patio area is definitely recommended as the views are stunning. Just remember to bring sunglasses if you are there a couple hours before sunset. There are umbrellas but they don’t block the sunlight completely. Our server Coop was super friendly, attentive, and accommodating. In fact, when he saw that my dinner wasn’t perfect when it came out, he took it back to the kitchen to remake it and then gave us complimentary dessert at the end of our meal to make up for the inconvenience. He definitely went above and beyond to make sure me and the rest of my party was happy. Thank you, Coop!

In an area like Del Mar where street parking can be a nightmare, having a dedicated garage makes the logistics of your visit "ezpz." Ambiance: The atmosphere is sophisticated yet comfortable, bridging the gap between a "fancy" night out and a relaxed coastal meal perfectly. 🥂 Final Thoughts and Recap To recap, this is a very decent 4-star experience where the good fish and tasty dishes are the stars. Between the really good poke nachos, the pretty good service, and the nice views, it’s a reliable choice for a high-quality meal. The added benefit of the convenient parking garage makes it a stress-free option for a night out. I’d definitely return for the nachos and the patio vibes!
