I am really grateful to have found a new yoga home at Adeline post-pandemic and post- moving back to the East Bay. I will say, I had been doing yoga, mostly the regular Vinyasa style found in these parts, for about 15 years when I started at Adeline. And Adeline's style took a bit of time to get used to! I found it much more directive than other studios - the teachers really are there to teach you, and if you'd like to do something different, they want to know why! This felt a bit jarring at first, and it took my ego a little time to relax into. Also, there a few key things that Adeline/Iyengar yoga emphasizes that I hadn't been asked to practice at other studios, like headstand. Even if you've been doing yoga for many years, the Fundamentals classes are useful to learn these basics. But after that transition period, I now feel like Adeline is a place where I can really learn about my body and how to keep it working well, long into the future. The studio feels grounded in its origins, not in a superficial way, but in a way that feels deep and really fundamental to learning the practice. And the use of so many props makes it more accessible than a lot of studios I've been to. I think that's why the studio is filled with people of all ages, which I love. I hope Adeline is a part of my life for a long time!

Adeline Yoga is a wonderful, welcoming community and they offer a serene and comfortable space to practice in. The instructors have been attentive, especially to newcomers and anyone needing extra guidance with the poses, plus their instructions are always clear and easy to follow. The classes are varied and suitable for everyone, from complete beginners to more advanced practitioners. Additionally, there are plenty of props available to support your practice.

Adeline yoga is a-m-a-z-i-n-g. The space, teachers and community. Once I found Adeline Yoga two years ago, I knew it would be my forever yoga home. There is something for everyone, inclusive of all ages, physical abilities or injuries/challenges - if you need a recommendation on where to start, just ask the fabulous front desk staff. There are donation based community classes if cost is an issue, and frequent free chats on yoga philosophy, developing a home practice or how to manage specific injuries. The online classes are also fantastic. Whether you’re new to Iyengar yoga or more seasoned and want to deepen your practice, I highly recommend.

Adeline Yoga has been a welcoming and dope place to practice and learn yoga. The teachers are truly there to serve the students and are invested in our growth as yogis. I'm new to Iyengar, so almost everyday I am learning and developing my yoga practice. As a gearhead, I love the myriad of props we get to use and/or play with, to further enhance our yoga practices. Come thru and take a class or two.

I've studied yoga for about twenty years. I received a 200 hour certification in 2014 in a style that was quite intense and, I believe, ultimately caused some injury to my shoulders and wrists. I stopped practicing for quite awhile as I recovered and reoriented myself. Yoga Adeline has been the best possible place to reenter my practice. The expertise of each teacher is undeniable, and the instruction is detailed, clear, and safe. The offerings are authentic, grounded in a deep respect and understanding of the lineage of BKS Iyengar. It is truly a world-class studio. Also, for pregnant people: when I was pregnant, I was able to go to class at Yoga Adeline and get exactly the right adjustments needed to make the yoga as accessible, safe, and nourishing as possible as my body changed. Every single instructor is trained in working with both prenatal and postpartum people, and I have always felt the most amazing level of care. Returning to yoga after the birth of my baby has also been amazing. Each teacher offers a practice that helps me regain strength and flexibility after what was a very hard pregnancy. The instruction at Yoga Adeline helps me to reconnect and deepen my relationship with my body as it continues to heal and evolve postpartum. I've yet to find a studio or instructors who are as authentically connected to the lineage, and I feel so lucky to live just a few blocks away and have the privilege of practicing there regularly. If you're looking for a deep, rigorous, and authentic practice, this is the place to be.
