I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this hotel. I booked my stay through the Disneyland app, as I usually purchase vacation packages that include both hotel accommodations and park tickets. While I acknowledge that I should have reviewed the room details more carefully, the listing showed a standard-view room with a photo of two beds, which led me to believe that was the room I had reserved. Upon checking in and entering my room, I was shocked to find an extremely small space with only one actual bed and what was described as a second "bed" that folded down from the wall. In reality, it was an uncomfortable sofa-style Murphy bed with a thin mattress on a hard wooden and metal frame. I paid over $2,000 for a three-night stay, yet the room was so cramped that once the wall bed was opened, there was barely enough space to walk. We had to rearrange the furniture and partially block the entrance just to set up the bed. As soon as I realized the room was not what I expected, I attempted to call the customer service number listed on my Disneyland reservation, but it was closed. I then contacted the hotel's front desk from the room phone and was told that rooms are assigned based on the booked view rather than the number of beds. I found this policy unreasonable, especially considering the amount I paid. My 13-year-old daughter and I were expected to spend three nights in a cramped room where one of us had to sleep on an uncomfortable pull-down sofa bed. The front desk representative said there was nothing he could do because room assignments were based on availability within the reserved room category. He also informed me that since I had already entered the room, they could neither refund my stay nor move me to another room. I then went to the front desk hoping to speak with a manager, but no manager ever came to speak with me. Instead, another front desk employee repeated the same information. She explained that because I booked through the Disneyland app, any cancellation or refund would have to be handled through Disney. The only alternative offered was to wait until the following day and pay an additional $500 for an upgraded room—on top of the more than $2,000 I had already spent. Overall, this experience completely overshadowed what was supposed to be a special trip. For the price I paid, I expected a comfortable room with adequate sleeping arrangements for two people. Instead, I felt trapped in a room that was overcrowded, uncomfortable, and not representative of the expectations created by the booking photos. I left feeling disappointed by both the accommodations and the lack of meaningful customer service.

Stayed at the villas at Disneyland Hotel Villas and overall had a great experience. The room was very clean, well maintained, and comfortable. Everything felt organized and we had zero issues during our stay, which made it easy to relax after long park days. That said, compared to staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel back in the 2000s, a lot of the perks seem to be gone. It used to feel more like a premium experience with extra touches and a booklet of perks. For the price, it would be nice to see more of that brought back. Also, when the pool area closes at night, you have to walk all the way around it to get back to the lobby, which turns into a bit of a hassle after a long day. A better way to navigate that area would really help. Clean, comfortable, and reliable stay but bringing back more perks and improving access would take it to the next level. #HiltonUniversalCity

While slightly remote by Disneyland standards, you’re still practically sleeping in the castle compared to the commute from even the closest DVC to any park in Florida! The array of room types makes waitlisting a challenge, but once you’re in it’s great, with spacious rooms, wide hallways, and theming that varies by floor. Make sure to check your closet for some extra magic!

Disneyland Hotel Villas Review – Deeply Disappointing I never thought I’d be writing a review like this about a Disneyland property, but here we are. The Villas rooms at the Disneyland Hotel are shockingly underwhelming—honestly, barely a step above a Motel 6. The finishes feel cheap, the design is generic, and there’s a noticeable lack of the quality and attention to detail you expect from Disney. I’ll admit it’s possible I missed something during booking, but even with that consideration, this falls far below what should be Disney standards. When you stay at a Disney property, you’re paying a premium for experience, immersion, and quality—none of which are reflected in these rooms. The furniture was damaged second hand from a garage sale. This doesn’t feel like Disney magic—it feels like a budget shortcut dressed up with a Disney label. If you’re expecting the usual Disney-level accommodations, I would strongly reconsider booking the Villas.

This is probably one of our least favorite Disney Vacation Club resorts. We had a preferred studio on the 11th floor. You had to look down to see the pool view that made it preferred. Most of the view was parking lot. The view would have been awesome if it we were in the 7-8 floor. There is no balcony on the studio rooms. Most DVC villas and studios have balconies. I’m guessing it is to stay in them with the Disneyland hotel. The rooms were small and bathroom is already out of date. No walk-in shower like most other DVC studios. I wish there was ceiling, which is also common in the villas, as our room stayed warm and was never able to reach the thermostat temp. It’s a beautiful resort and location is great. We will definitely stay again because it does meet our needs for 3-4 night stay.
