Amazing! My baby Pearl required emergency surgery, and I had visited a few vet clinics and made multiple calls. Many places didn’t do the surgery, were booked for weeks, or were extremely overpriced. I already knew it would be an expensive surgery, but at this point, I needed to find a vet clinic ASAP for Pearl. I was already stressed and worried when another clinic referred me to Cottage Pet Hospital. When I spoke to an employee there, they were very understanding and scheduled an appointment the same day. Upon arriving, the veterinarian was polite, sweet, and professional, explaining everything thoroughly without suggesting I put my dog down like others had due to her age. She clearly explained the risks of surgery, and it was performed the very next morning. Thankfully, everything went well! The staff and vet were incredibly kind and supportive during such a difficult time, and now my baby can live the rest of her life happily. Thank you so much Cottage Pet Hospital

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Gallo at Cottage Pet Hospital! She's taken care of my two elderly chihuahuas for years now and I can honestly say I trust her with every piece of me. She's kind, giving and also pretty funny (which is always a plus)! I recommend her and Cottage Pet Hospital so so much!!

Our Sky had surgery one week ago. I have to say: WOW, SHE REALLY NEEDED THAT. It is a night, and day result for her. I wish I had known that her chronic symptoms were related. Clearly, seeing her after one week only; they were SOOOOOO VERY related. She sees you in a week for her follow up. For now, Sky is still taking it easy as required, and enjoying a toasty nap today.

More attention to what is written by the doctor would be helpful. I had to keep calling back to get what was prescribed on the chart and should have been given that day. I do feel comfortable there and everyone is very personable which is probably why I had forgotten to ask for it. Office visit is a little pricey but I feel confident in the care they give my puppy.

Over a month before my scheduled appointment, which I had booked far in advance because I was coming from out of town, the office canceled on me last minute. I had already taken time off work and arranged my schedule around a several-hour drive. Instead of properly accommodating the situation, they rescheduled me for the very next day during peak traffic hours. While driving there, traffic became much worse than expected, so I literally pulled off the freeway to call ahead and explain the situation. I told them where I was coming from and that the drive, which is normally around two hours, had turned into nearly three because of traffic and the last-minute rescheduling. I was reassured that it would still be fine if I arrived late. After keeping them informed every step of the way and making the long drive, I walked in only to have the doctor refuse to see me entirely. I even asked if he could answer one simple question regarding my pet’s health, and he refused to do that as well. To make matters worse, when I later called back to reschedule, I was told they were not even sure they wanted me as a client because I was supposedly “an hour late.” That was honestly shocking considering I had communicated everything ahead of time and had specifically been told it would not be a problem. If nobody had informed them, I would completely understand, but that was not the case here. This was especially frustrating because I had already spent around $4,000 on surgery there and was planning additional respiratory testing and treatment that would have cost thousands more. The surgery itself was done well, which is why I continued making the long drive to this office in the first place. But eventually you realize that good technical work alone is not enough. Character, professionalism, communication, and basic respect matter just as much. I also did not like how my pet was routinely taken to the back for even simple things rather than doing examinations in front of me. The communication overall felt impersonal, and after this experience, I requested a follow-up call from the doctor and never received one. My advice to others is this: pay attention not only to the services being offered, but also to how a business treats you when issues come up. That is when you truly learn about their professionalism and character. UPDATE: (a few days later) After everything that already happened with this doctor and office, I decided to get a second opinion from a specialist. Months ago, this doctor told me my pet had “major plaque buildup” and needed a deep dental cleaning that would cost over $1,000. Today, the specialist told me his teeth actually look fine with only very minimal buildup and nothing requiring a major cleaning right now. At this point, I will probably be getting second opinions on everything I was previously told here. Teeth are one of the easier things to examine, so hearing such a completely different opinion from a specialist honestly makes me question whether the focus was truly on the examination or the invoice amount.
