I recently visited The Cutting Board at the DoubleTree by Hilton in San Bernardino for a second time because my first experience was genuinely impressive. The sandwich I had on my previous visit was stacked generously with meat, bacon, avocado, lettuce, and cheese, served on beautifully toasted bread with a fresh and satisfying presentation. It looked and tasted like something made with care, and that quality is exactly what brought me back. Unfortunately, my experience today was disappointing in comparison. The sandwich I received this time looked noticeably smaller, lacked the same generous portions and presentation, and overall felt inconsistent with what I had originally been served. Comparing the two side by side, it honestly feels like two completely different menu items. The first sandwich looked full, balanced, and worth the price, while the second one seemed rushed and underwhelming. Consistency matters, especially when a great first impression is what encourages customers to return. I came back expecting the same quality that impressed me the first time, and sadly, this visit did not meet that expectation. I hope the restaurant can improve consistency because the first experience showed they are clearly capable of much better.

We've stayed at this hotel multiple times before and had a few hours to kill on a random Monday before an appointment. We asked if we could set up a couple laptops and order some lunch and hang out for awhile, and seeing how the place was totally empty around 1:00p on a monday we were not surprised when they where totally welcoming, although the food is limited to the rear area versus the more comfortable lounge area near the front of the bar and closer to hotel check in. We ordered a couple of sandwiches with fries as the side. The Philly cheesesteak was lovely, with good quality meat and sensible pepper/onion ratios. It wasn't super cheesy, but the flavor was there. The club sandwich was meaty and had quite firm avocado just easing into ripe (which I happen to love). The meat on it was run of the mill lunch meat, but tasted freshly out of the package. The bread was warm and a good twist, really enjoyed it's texture when toasted lightly. The fries where plentiful, salted, and crunchy. The prices where inflated slightly, but our server was delightful and accommodating and the food was really solid. Great option if you're staying at the hotel but I probably wouldn't go out of my way, at least for these menu options and price point. I think the place is striving to be a decent to good restaurant and bar primarily to serve guests of the hotel and allow the kitchen to facilitate room service. The cutting board is very much succeeding at that objective and warrants five stars.

Nice restaurant hidden inside the hotel (see note on parking). The food was great, prices on par for area full service restaurants, maybe a little better than a lot of them. The patio had a nice atmosphere and it's completely dog friendly and rfe decorative fire wall put off enough warmth to be comfortable on a slightly chilly night. All the employees were fantastic, I would definitely go there again if I were in the area.

Bartender Sarah was spectacular! Pleasant, attentive, and made the night great. That was on a slow Thursday. For the busy Friday, nothing changed... she handled the larger workload seamlessly as I witnessed her giving everyone the same special service i received, and with smiles always...and an occasional joke! Felt like I was her friend, not just a customer. Will definitely come back!

Our family had brunch here. The food was terrible, I had the orange chicken bowl. That was dry and the rice seemed like it was from the previous day crusty on the bottom. Honestly Panda Express chicken is better than what I was served at this establishment. The bill had extra food and beverage taxes, with an extra tax for the alcohol. However the garilc edamame was excellent. I will never come back.
