There is very little signage that shows you must pay to park there. Be aware your car will be ticketed if you dont pay. I had a hard time finding even a sign stating that you have to pay to park there after coming back and having a ticket on my car. I literally had to drive around to find a pay station and signage of having to pay for parking. The same day that i was ticketed I saw many cars also that had tickets on them as well. City should have better signage!

Mountain View Station is truly my favorite place in the Bay Area! As the last stop on the VTA Orange Line, it connects perfectly with Caltrain, buses, and free community shuttles—making it one of the most efficient and traveler-friendly transit hubs around. One of the best perks? From here, you can easily visit the Computer History Museum—a must-see for tech enthusiasts. Just hop on the free Mountain View Community Shuttle, which stops right outside the station and drops you near the museum. Right next to the station is Castro Street, the culinary gem of Mountain View, lined with over 80 international restaurants. Whether it’s gourmet burgers at Eureka!, Latin flavors at Cascal, Neapolitan pizza at Doppio Zero, Mediterranean dishes at Oren’s Hummus, or Mexican seafood at Fiesta Del Mar Too—it’s a food lover’s paradise. The area is clean, vibrant, and walkable—ideal for exploring or relaxing. Whether you’re commuting, sightseeing, or simply enjoying good food, Mountain View Station is a perfect starting point.

I was surprised that this station doesn’t have a public restroom. I ended up having to use the restroom inside one of the nearby stores. Other than that, the station is convenient and also connects to the light rail.

Good location, lots of limited trains stop here. VTA light rail is pretty terrible, but it does connect here. It's a very bikable station, there's plenty of restaurants and even a supermarket nearby if you have time to kill. If you're lucky enough to find a spot on the street, you can also park on Evelyn for free (up to 5hrs) instead of paying for the parking lot.
