Half Moon Bay Brewing Company was the perfect lunch stop during our coastal drive down Highway 1. Sitting across from the harbor with a cold flight of house brews made it easy to slow down and enjoy the afternoon. The sampler was a great way to explore the lineup. Every beer was well made, but Dance with the Devil was the standout for me. This Belgian Golden Ale was smooth, flavorful, and easily my favorite of the flight. Beth enjoyed the blackberry cider, which was crisp, refreshing, and a nice alternative to beer. We shared the fish and chips, and it was more than enough for two. The fish had a light, crispy batter with flaky white fish inside, and the fries paired well with it for an easy lunch. The staff was friendly, service was quick, and the atmosphere matched everything you hope for in a waterfront brewery. Whether you’re visiting Half Moon Bay or simply making the scenic drive along the coast, this is a stop that’s well worth making.

You really can’t miss this spot if you’re heading to Miramar Beach. It’s been our go-to brunch stop for years whenever we bring our dog babies to Half Moon Bay, and somehow it never gets old. The location is hard to beat — spacious outdoor seating, beautiful water views, plenty of people-watching, and a relaxed beach-town vibe that instantly puts you in vacation mode. It’s also very dog-friendly, which is a huge bonus for us. Food-wise, my favorite is always the Ahi Poke. If it’s your first visit, make sure you order it. They also do a great job with seasonal specials, and there are plenty of seafood options for pescatarians like me. This is one of those reliable, no-brainer places that can satisfy almost anyone in your group. Easy, comfortable, consistently good, and exactly where I want to be after a walk on the beach.

Came here for a bite around 8pm on Memorial Day. We really enjoyed sitting outside with a dog in a stroller right next to the fire pit that kept us warm at dusk in the front of the restaurant. I like how there's windows on the street-facing side blocking the wind while enjoying a nice view of the water. I like the variety of dishes available on the menu. We ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wings for starter that was nice and tart, and Mussels & Fries which was cooked perfectly. The Strawberry Cheesecake was a great way to end the meal. The staff was friendly. There are also heat lamps for tables that are not next to the fire pit. This is a pretty good size restaurant. From the street, I could see a section inside the back of the restaurant that I thought would be great for private parties, and a beer garden in the back of the restaurant. There's also a parking lot. I will definitely come back next time I visit Half Moon Bay.

The crab roll may not be the best I've ever had, but it's definitely one of the better ones I've had around the Bay. Every bite was packed with fresh, sweet Dungeness crab, and they wisely let the crab do most of the talking. The soft, buttery roll was the perfect sidekick. I also sampled the calamari from the seafood platter, and it disappeared from the table embarrassingly fast. The vibe here is pure Half Moon Bay. Casual, relaxed, and sitting right by the harbor. Parking can test your patience on busy days, but once you're enjoying the view with a cold drink in hand, the frustration fades pretty quickly. Service was friendly, welcoming, and kept things moving. Most people make a beeline for Sam's Chowder House, but don't sleep on Half Moon Bay Brewing Company. It may not be the headliner, but it's a very strong opening act. Come for the harbor views, stay for the crab roll, and leave wondering why you don't visit Half Moon Bay more often.

The service here is top-notch. From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming, attentive, and incredibly efficient. It’s the kind of hospitality that makes you want to stick around for another round. The absolute highlight was the beer. If you’re a fan of a solid IPA or just looking for a high-quality brew, this is the place. The selection is fantastic, and the quality is genuinely impressive—easily the best part of the experience. As for the meal, it was just okay. While the flavors were decent, it didn't quite live up to the high bar set by the drinks. It’s perfectly fine for a casual bite, but it felt more like a supporting act to the beverage menu. Overall I’d definitely come back for the great atmosphere and excellent service. If you're coming for the beer, you won't be disappointed!
