Great surf skate sunglass footwear and clothing store. Lots of big name nrands with some local. Mostly hard boards from local shapers but a few generic foamies too. Great sunglass selection. Well staffed with knowledgeable folks. Only knock is lack of clearance or sale options for those of us not earning leucadia salaries.

I contacted Hansen Surfboards because of the time sensitive nature of my order. I was answered immediately by a very helpful staff member who quickly connected me with the proper department. Every person I spoke to on the phone was kind, swift, generous, and knowledgable. The staff took my inquiry seriously and immediately placed my order at a top priority, and I received it in time to travel. A call that I thought might take me half an hour actually took me less than five minutes—their customer service is top tier! I will absolutely be shopping here again, no questions asked!!

I ordered several pairs of shoes and the shoe manager was extremely helpful especially with the Tevas that I purchased! The customer service was phenomenal! We will be bringing the whole family back to continue shopping with Hansen! Thank you for your wonderful help and great customer service!

Hansen's has lots of great product, and is merchandised well. But I must be missing something about the wonderful service here, because that's NEVER been my experience. I have been in dozens of times with rarely a greeting, much less an offer to help. I was in last month looking for birthday gifts. Same lack of service, so I left. Because I really wanted a couple of the items, I returned the next week, hoping it would be different. Nope. Silly me. I am petite and was struggling to get something from a high rack. Two employees were chatting about his time working in Hawaii at the Chart House. Clearly they could see me, but they didn't move. I have seen the woman often in the front section of the store folding clothes who has never aknowledged me; even when I'm standing right next to her! Then I went to the shoe department where the female employee there was talking to a regular customer, and didn't excuse herself to ask if I needed help. I was looking at men's flip flops, so it seemed that it might be a good time to inquire. The one exception that day was Hayley at the checkout counter, who was friendly and helpful. I am an older woman, who apparently doesn't fit the surfer girl look. It seems that you have to be a certain type to receive good service. I am always kind, friendly, and polite to those in any service industry. Funny that I don't get this lack of service when I shop the surf shops in Santa Barbara. So Hansen's, I won't be back...EVER. PS If it weren't for the merchandise, I would have given 1 star.
