The doctor who saw me was very nice, but was condescending and treated me like a child. I don't have a single cavity, I wonder what she says to people that do have more dental issues. I could also see her upselling me on gum treatment. I will follow her advice because she is the dentist, but PLEASE use your powers for good, not shaming. I can afford it, but people who cannot drop >$1k on a gum treatment will feel shame about not wanting to do it ( both not taking care of their teeth well enough according to the dentist and not having the money to do it). Get some perspective. That is not good bedside manner. Meet people where they are, and give them options they can afford. Do not listen to the Csuite to "sell sell sell!"- meet people where they are: Talk to them about at home changes that can be improved first that are FREE, intermediate care, then the gold standard ( if possible we could do this...). Bianca gets 5 stars- she is a lovely human. I appreciate the care she took with my cleaning. She was considerate of my time and comfort. I hope to see her again.

I had one of the worst deep cleaning experiences here. The dental hygienist was terrible. I ended up with a swollen gum in an area where I had never had problems before. It has been six months, and I still have pain. I also have serious concerns about the hygienist’s professionalism. She dropped the deep-cleaning instrument (the scaler) on the floor twice and then continued using it on me. That is completely unacceptable. Normally, deep cleaning is done one quadrant at a time on separate visits, but she did not even explain the treatment plan. The procedure was extremely painful, and I had pain for almost two weeks afterward. I have had deep cleanings before and never experienced this level of pain. I’m not trying to pick on anyone. I stayed silent at first, but not anymore. It felt like everything was about money rather than patient care. Don’t ever go here. My gums, my time, and my money were all ruined because of this experience.

Bianca Preciado is the most amazing dental hygienist I’ve never worked with! She is so incredibly kind, considerate and taught me a ton. I never imagined having such a sweet, intimate, humane experience at a dentist! Would recommend her to everyone

I had such a terrible experience with this office. I made an appointment and showed up 10 mins early to fill out paperwork. I wasn’t called until 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment time so I was in the waiting room for almost an hour. I then had x rays and met with the dentist. Although I came in for a crown, the dentist only mentioned that I needed a “deep cleaning in all four quadrants.” I never received any follow up info regarding the crown until I asked for it. All that happened was a push for a deep cleaning. I then went to another dentist who said firstly, the x rays that were taken were unusable and poor quality, and secondly that I definitely did not need a deep cleaning. I then saw 2 more dentists after that, a total of 3 dentists after this one, who all confirmed that a deep cleaning was not needed. Seems like this office is more concerned with quick money rather than doing the right thing and patient retention. I was really disappointed with every part of my experience with them.

I had a really good experience at Dentists of El Cerrito Plaza. I went in because I had some tooth pain and honestly didn’t know what to expect since it was my first time there. DA Melanie was very professional and explained things in a simple way, which I appreciated. Dr. Gill and Dr. Pari both took time to listen to my concerns and didn’t rush anything. What I liked the most was that they didn’t push for unnecessary treatment. They actually told me it’s better to just observe for now instead of doing more work on the tooth, which felt very honest. A lot of places try to do procedures right away for money, so this really stood out. They also educated me on how to properly care for my tooth, and within a few days, my pain completely went away. The staff overall were friendly, and the clinic was clean and welcoming. I would recommend this clinic to anyone looking for trustworthy and patient-centered dental care.
