Been going to Fearless Fitness Academy for about a month now, pretty much every day, and I can't recommend it enough. Steven, the owner, is the real deal. He actually cares about the people who walk through his doors, and it shows in how he runs the place. The vibe is supportive without being over the top; everyone's pushing each other and helping each other out. On top of that, Steven's a professional dietitian, so you're not just getting workouts. He drops genuinely useful nutrition tips that make a difference. If you're in Duarte, in the area, and looking for a gym that feels like a community, this is it.

READ BEFORE AGREEING TO WORK WITH STEVEN I joined the team back in May (ended training in September), I was excited to get started and take my fitness journey to the next level. I signed all the paperwork without thoroughly reading the waivers. Before joining, I was already weight training, but I was afraid to lift heavy and would avoid back squats and deadlifts. My biggest fear has always been injuring my back while working out. Unfortunately, while doing a 1:1 training session with Steven, my worst fear became a reality. I was doing back squats with 175 lbs no additional support for the barbell or my back was used. I lost my balance while coming up and felt cracking/ snapping throughout my back. Steven was spotting me but, failed to adequately protect me, he just stood behind me didn't jump into action. After the injury, Steven did not provide any meaningful assistance. Instead, he even asked me to do a dead hang. Given the pain I was experiencing, this was extremely distressing. The impact of landing back on the floor caused significant pain. I could barely walk properly after the injury, yet Steven did not offer meaningful help. He walked ahead of me, and I even had to ask him to grab my water bottle because I couldn't bend down to pick it up myself. To make matters worse, Steven mentioned that he was also recovering from a herniated disc. I couldn't help but think, What the hell? As a result of this incident, I now have a severe herniated disc affecting my sciatic nerve with lower back pain. I did tell my doctors about the lack of help provided, they all shook their heads in disbelief. This injury has completely changed my life. I haven't been able to work, my activity levels have been severely limited, and I now have numerous restrictions that affect my daily life. Please think carefully before joining. Don't be like me and make this decision out of desperation. You're paying a lot of money for training, and the last thing you expect is to walk away with a life changing injury. Another thing to keep in mind is the medical bills very expensive and will become your responsibility. Do your research, ask questions, read every waiver carefully, and make sure you feel confident in the trainer you're trusting with your health and safety.
