i was expecting something a little more special given the location but honestly it was just fine for the price. the beer was decent but nothing blew me away and i thought the food would be more exciting for being in wine country or whatever. we got a burger and the fish and chips both came out pretty quick and were warm at least but kind of standard fare. i wish they had more that felt like local ingredients but the fries were definately good and salted perfectly. service was friendly even if it took a minute to get the check so overall it was a meal with no real problems but nothing memorable either. i wouldnt go out of my way to come back.

I did not stay here but enjoyed a lovely dinner at Calistoga Inn. The outdoor patio is large and abuts the creek/river. I arrived early enough to get a table overlooking the little river and it was quite pleasant. The service was friendly, patient and attentive. Carlos was my server and did a nice job helping me settle on a choice. I ordered the crispy duck leg with mushroom/truffle risotto and the risotto was out of sight! So often dishes that advertise truffle in the U.S. don’t use enough for you to experience the flavor. This was Italian quality truffle and you could taste it. I ordered a side of grilled asparagus and it was also absolutely perfect. They mix in some bits of olive and caper that aren’t obvious, but occasionally you get a pleasant lemony-salty bite that goes nicely with the grilled asparagus. I may have to go back for that dish for a second try so I can try to make it at home! All in all, a lovely, low-key dining experience. Absolutely worth a visit.

This is just for the restaurant since we did not stay here. We ate breakfast here during our stay at Calistoga Hot Springs. The hotel provided breakfast vouchers, so we came here two mornings in a row. The food was pretty good overall, although I thought it was a little pricey for what we received. I ordered the overnight oats, which were okay, but I would have liked a few more berries and walnuts. The outdoor patio was very nice, and the restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere with a bar area as well. Service was mixed. The gentleman who helped us on the first day was friendly and welcoming, but the two women who assisted us on the second day seemed less warm and personable. They were not rude, just not particularly friendly.

We chose Calistoga Inn Restaurant & Brewery to celebrate my mom’s 80th birthday, and while the food was wonderful, the overall experience fell short due to service. The grilled artichokes and beet salad were both delicious, and our entrées—the salmon and a seafood pasta—were equally enjoyable. Unfortunately, the service really detracted from the evening. When we arrived, we weren’t greeted for 15-20 minutes, which set a disappointing tone from the start. Our waitress seemed unhappy to be there and was not very welcoming. While everyone can have an off day, it did impact our experience. Given that we were celebrating such a special milestone—my mom’s 80th birthday—we had hoped for at least a small acknowledgment, but there was nothing. It left us feeling a bit overlooked. It’s a shame, because the food and location truly have so much potential. A little more attention to service and guest experience would make a big difference and turn a good meal into a memorable one.

We brought attention to the fact that there was glass in our beverage. They said they’d get the manager never did. As we were leaving, I requested the manager and he said he had no idea where that came from. Incredibly unacceptable and will never return. I would not recommend under any circumstances. The fact that the manager reacted this way is unacceptable. We were here on 7-13-26
