I am very disappointed with how this In-Shape location is managed. The facility is consistently dirty. The men’s restroom often smells terrible, there is frequently urine on the floor, and the sauna is unsanitary. Members leave clothing hanging on or near the sauna heater, even though it’s against the rules and creates a safety concern, yet staff rarely enforces the policies. The employees spend a lot of their time standing around at the front desk talking instead of walking the gym, cleaning equipment, checking the locker rooms, or addressing problems as they arise. For the amount members pay each month, the cleanliness and supervision should be much better. My biggest issue is with the management. I was involved in a verbal disagreement with other members over gym equipment. While I understand the situation needed to be addressed, I feel management handled it unfairly by immediately removing me instead of taking the time to hear both sides or de-escalate the situation. It felt like the decision had already been made before anyone bothered to understand what actually happened. In my opinion, this location needs stronger leadership, better customer service, cleaner facilities, and consistent enforcement of the rules for everyone—not just selective enforcement. Until those issues are addressed, I cannot recommend this gym.

This is the gym I go to almost every day to sweat all over the equipment. Overall equipment is in good shape. Staff is nice. Have had a few issues here and there mostly with pool people jumping in my line with out reservations. Overall a Great place to sweat, not to do tick tocks or whatever young people do this days, and to loose your extra fact.

Want hidden fees? This is the place to go. Cancelled my membership on the same day I was told I could come back to cancel to avoid cancellation fees. Went and I got slapped with a charge till the next month. Never have I had a gym do that. I rarely come because it's packed and small. Going to another gym at better cost and no extra or hidden fees and with more space.

I called a month ago to cancel my account because i was no longer attending in shape. When I told them I wanted to cancel my account the lady that I talked to me told me it was better to put it on hold so I don’t get charged for the following month, after being already on hold prior to this. This morning a month later I checked my account and i got charged the full price after being told I wouldn’t get charged.

I truly enjoy working out at In-Shape in Atwater. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, especially Gardenia, who is consistently helpful and brings positive energy to my workouts. I appreciate the great environment — from the moment I walk in, I feel motivated and comfortable. I also want to recognize how clean and well-maintained the gym always is. Thank you to the entire team for the excellent job you do every day.
