This was our first time here since it replaced McLintock's and it was amazing. The ribeye steak was cooked flawlessly and the chicken marsala one of the best I ever had. Victor was there personally, assisting with outdoor heaters and Tawnya was great. We will definitely be back!

Yikes. I got some of their barbecue at the SLO farmers market and it was some of the worst I've ever had. The tri-tip was overcooked, dry, and bland. I also got a beef rib, which, on the other hand, was so undercooked that it was inedibly chewy. Beef ribs are truly one of the easiest meats to smoke: you just keep cooking them until they're done! They're impossible to mess up if you just leave them on the fire. And for the price, I really expected much better. Seems like this place is all show and no substance. On the other hand, the food sure did come out quickly. I can't speak to their actual restaurant, but if you're considering them at the SLO farmers market, just keep on walking to one of the other half-dozen barbecue options

Great family steak house where everyone has options to satisfy their taste buds. We took my Dad and 2 Daughters, enjoyed some live music they had that night. The atmosphere is pleasent, they've updated the decore since it was McClintock's just the right amount where it feels fresh and their own, but also maintained the similar ranch steak house vibe. The entire Crew were very nice, helpful and super on it. We're so glad Vix opened up and can't wait to return soon!

This is as probably every other review mentions, the old F McKlintocks AG location. The inside is pretty much as it was, except that they thankfully removed some of the TVs. I say thankfully because it was much quieter and you can actually hear what people are saying when you talk to your family now. I am still sad that the prior owners removed all the local brands from the walls. The literal whitewashing of local history is a bummer to see happen real time. We went here for lunch and it was fantastic. I got the tri tip sandwich and it's made the local way with garlic bread as the bread and the meat tender and tastes like it came off the back of a pickup at a fundraiser BBQ. So delicious. The mac and cheese is creamy, tastes great and the sweet potato fries were great too. My mom enjoyed her steak bites very much and my neighbor polished off her whole entire salad. The salad came piled with tri tip on top, they do not skimp on the salad ingredients. Everything was fresh. The ranch is not watery. I made sure I saved my leftovers so I could reheat them in the air fryer because this food is not going to waste. Definitely stop here and try it out! We want to come back for breakfast and dinner to try out those menus as well. If you want a great local steakhouse, this is it! So glad that they took over this space and breathed life into it again!
