I am retired law enforcement who has been providing care for my K-9 partner,LLouisa since our joint retirement two years ago. For the past year, she has been affected by DM, short for Degenerative Myelopathy. Despite her illness, I consistently provided her with the highest quality of life care, including a custom wheelchair to facilitate mobility despite both her hind legs paralysis. This is the least one could do for a partner who, after a decade of dedicated service, remained by my side as my K-9/companion. She was the most courageous dog I have ever known. Since November 2025, my former K9 partner, LLouisa, had developed coin-sized lesion above her rear paw that never heal, I have been bringing LLouisa to the Arcadia Animal Hospital for her veterinary care. Following her surgical closure of the wound performed by Dr. Niu, who did an excellent job suturing closures of the wound. Unfortunately it did not heal. (Could be attributable to her age and especially her DM condition) So, from the beginning of 2026, following her post-surgical recovery, LLouisa required bi-weekly bandage and wound care at the Arcadia Animal Hospital until recently, when her DM, advanced to her lungs. To prevent further suffering, I made the difficult decision to put her to sleep. My K9 partner, LLouisa, has since passed away. As I went to pick up her urn from Arcadia Animal Hospital, The cherished memories endure, even in the wake of the loss, among those, I will long remember the moments of care provided by the Arcadia Animal Hospital staff. Their kindness will resonate with me for a long time, reflecting on the relationships I built with everyone at the hospital, from the front desk personnel, Natalie and Jocelyn, to technicians, Francis, Amanda, Sarah,Tonya and Liz who demonstrated loving kindness and compassion towards my old partner. Sincere gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Niu for performing LLouisa's surgery and to Dr. Sanfilippo for the exceptional care she provided. I am so fortunate to have taken my old partner to the right Veterinary Hospital. Seeing your compassion and dedicated approach to an old handicapped service dog like my old partner, LLouisa. To all current and future clients who entrust their beloved pets to Arcadia Animal Hospital for veterinary care. For those seeking exceptional veterinary care for their beloved pets, Arcadia Animal Hospital is among the best in its class offering exceptional compassion and kindness in conjunction with their services. 🐾🏥💖 As I bid farewell to my LLouisa, I extend my gratitude to the entire team at Arcadia Animal Hospital. 🙏❤️🌟

Our appointment was at 5:00 PM. We checked in at 4:50 and did not leave until close to 6:40. Most of that time was spent waiting, and we only spent about 10 minutes with the veterinarian. We brought our cat in because we recently noticed unusual patches on his paws and wanted to find out whether it could be fungal so treatment could be started quickly. Our regular vet could not see him for another four days, which is why we came here. After examining his paws, the veterinarian said she had never seen anything like it before and could not tell us what it was. I understand that not every condition can be diagnosed immediately, but it was frustrating to wait almost two hours and still leave without any real answers. We had already sent over our cat’s medical records and mentioned twice, both to the technician and the veterinarian, that he is currently on NexGard Combo. We have only had him for about a week and a half, but he was dewormed the previous week, is up to date on all required vaccines, and is scheduled to receive his final booster soon. When we received the recommended treatment estimate, it included around $800 worth of services and products, including deworming, vaccines, and flea prevention. This was irritating because his records and the information we provided clearly showed that these things had already been handled or were currently being given. It made me question whether the records were actually reviewed. The fungal panel was around $300, which I understand may be a normal price for testing. However, after waiting so long and spending such little time with a veterinarian who had no idea what the issue might be, I did not feel comfortable paying that amount there. I declined most of the recommendations and only purchased the antifungal shampoo. I will be taking my cat back to our regular veterinarian this week for further testing if they recommend it. I do not have an issue with a veterinarian admitting that they are unsure about something, but the extremely long wait and the long list of expensive recommendations that did not reflect my cat’s current medical records made the visit feel more focused on money than his actual concern.

I understand veterinary diagnostics can be expensive, and I appreciate that the staff was polite. However, I felt the visit was handled in a very procedural, unnecessarily urgent manner. My dog was clinically stable — eating well, energetic, no fever, no discharge, and acting completely normal aside from abdominal enlargement. Despite this, the situation was presented in a way that felt much more alarming than it actually appeared to be, which pushed me toward agreeing to multiple expensive imaging procedures. I was told over the phone that the visit would be much less expensive, but the final bill was over $500, largely due to a nearly $300 STAT radiograph charge, even though the case did not appear truly emergent. In the end, no pregnancy, inflammation, or definitive diagnosis was found. I left feeling that the urgency and testing recommendations were not communicated in a balanced or transparent way. I will likely seek care elsewhere in the future. Won’t be back anymore. My dog was clinically stable, active, eating normally, and showed no emergency symptoms. Despite this, the doctor repeatedly used alarming language including references to possible death in order to pressure me into expensive STAT imaging and additional procedures. The communication felt fear-based rather than medically balanced.

Dr. Melanie is excellent. I love how she explained everything to me and showed me xrays and went over it with me. She cuddle my baby and made him feel comfortable. All the staff are really nice. Thank you
