What a great date night we enjoyed! We were able to quickly book a reservation online, which made our seating a breeze. Maralle & Chef Kevin made our night special with kind, excellent service. Chef Kevin was sharing with our table that he’s been with the company for decades and his prowess shows in his cuisine. He was very generous with us to allow us to try a sample of chicken fried rice for next time despite our choosing steamed rice. He cooked my filet mignon expertly medium rare, and it, along with everything else, was delicious. Maralle kept our beverages full and took extra care to incorporate our gift cards with payment and we appreciate her. We’re grateful to the rest of the service team that kept our table cleared of used dishes and for bringing us hot or cold sides as they were ready. Been coming here for years and would love to come back again!

Went to visit on 04/06/26. You can see the restaurant from the street, and there's plenty of parking so you don't need to worry about that at all! When you walk inside, this place is very much a vibe. It has really clean and classic interior, with rich dark colors inside. I absolutely love it! On the left is the actual grill side, the right side is more of a sushi restaurant with a sushi bar. Everyone was absolutely great! Our waitress was super sweet, she was very informative on the menu and made sure our tea was always filled! Chef Kevin was amazing! He was entertaining, and talented! Definitely would request him as a chef again! Friends and I got to try the Wagyu around the world. Holy cow, yeah, it's pricey, but yeah, it's totally worth it!!!! The meats melt into your mouth. Also with the fried rice, veggies, and shrimp. Would totally want to splurge on that again! I also got the Red Plum Sake Sangria for the drink. This was absolutely refreshing. And paired really well with the meal! Overall, have a good night with friends/family. When it's a celebration, or just wanting a night out and want to treat yourself, do it!

This was my second visit to the Benihana Anaheim location, and unfortunately, both experiences were bad. I usually visit Benihana at least four times a year—normally the Downey location—and I’ve never experienced anything like this. Our party of five waited approximately 50 minutes for our chef to arrive. Whe he finally came to the table, his hands appeared so dirty that I had to ask him to put on gloves. I ordered the Chicken Yakisoba, but he didn’t add the chicken. Our food was also overcooked, the rice was burnt, hard, and difficult to eat. I also watched a busser clear dirty plates while wearing gloves, then use those same gloves to touch clean, unused plates and return them to the shelf to be used again. He never changed his gloves. The restroom was filthy during both of my visits, which raised even more concerns about the cleanliness of this location. The greeters were not welcoming or friendly and came across as very dry. There was also an intoxicated customer being extremely loud and using inappropriate language, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. Maybe the restaurant was having a bad day, but after visiting this location twice and having a bad experience both times, I can’t overlook these issues. I’m especially disappointed because I regularly visit Benihana and usually enjoy the Downey location. Unfortunately, I would not return to the Anaheim location.

Honestly, I had no idea on what I would expect here. Food was amazing! Delicious and made in front of you. Well, not the sushi. Regardless, it was delicious 🙏 Service was outstanding! James was very welcoming and swift! He brought my drinks before I had time to check the notifications on my Instagram. He even took a photo of us after our meal. Chefsito! Wow!! What a showman! Not only did he make our food taste exceptionally delicious, but he put on a great show. One that left my aunt and mom pulling out their phones to record him (they never pull out their phone while eating). He delivered happiness and a great meal to the four of us. I hope to be back soon! I wish I lived closer to come back soon! I’ll return one day. Until then, I hope this place continues to thrive economically and bring happiness through good food and wonderful service — two things that I received today. Thank you, Chefsito and James, for making Mother’s Day memorable! Salud! - The Man in Polka Dots

Overall, our experience at the Anaheim Benihana was mixed. We arrived just before the 6:00 p.m. dinner rush, so the wait was minimal, which was a great start. Our server was attentive at the beginning of the meal, but after that became difficult to find. Dirty bowls and used utensils accumulated on the table, and we ultimately had to ask another staff member to locate him. Our chef, Kevin, clearly wanted to provide an entertaining tableside experience, and we appreciated the effort. Unfortunately, his demeanor detracted from the meal. When members of our party asked questions, requested a specific steak temperature, or asked for sauces to accompany the chicken, he repeatedly made comments under his breath that came across as dismissive and unprofessional. When it was time to pack our leftovers, we asked for plastic to-go containers. Instead of simply accommodating the request, we were told, “They get mad when we use those.” Regardless of the restaurant’s internal policies, comments like that should not be directed to guests and only added to the uncomfortable atmosphere. To end the meal, we requested the included ice cream, and it appeared our server rolled his eyes before fulfilling the request. Whether intentional or not, that was the impression it left. This was our third or fourth visit to this location, and unfortunately there seems to be a recurring pattern. While the food is generally enjoyable, the service consistently falls short of what we expect, especially for a restaurant at this price point. We keep hoping each visit will be better, but we continue to leave feeling that the overall hospitality could be significantly improved.
