I just moved to Aliso Viejo 3 months ago. I am in my early 50’s and have always been athletic. However I need a challenge at this point in my life and I decided to do Jiu Jitsu (something I’ve always wanted to do). Gracie Barra in Aliso is a 10 star ⭐️ in my book. I love that they are structured and have a system which makes you learn, lose weight and feel challenged. It is not an easy sport, however each day I attend I feel challenged, I learn, I grow and most importantly: I feel good about myself. The coaches are amazing and they truly care and have a vested interest in your progress. Any age, man, woman or child, you will not be disappointed. Thank you to all the Coaches and Professors for your time and patience. Try it…you will not regret it. See you on the mat 😀

Wonderful experience! Highly recommend. My 14-year-old son joined about two years ago after trying a few different jiu-jitsu schools, and this one immediately felt like the right fit for him. The school is very well organized, and classes are structured by age and skill level, which makes a big difference.The kids are engaged throughout the entire class, with lots of 1:1 attention and guidance from the instructors, so they really get the most out of each session. The coaches are kind, supportive, and very attentive. They create a positive environment where students can progress at their own pace while building discipline, confidence, and respect without pressure.Three of my son’s friends also joined after seeing his experience, which made it even more enjoyable and motivating for him. We’re really happy we found this school and very grateful for the positive impact it’s had on our son.

My son has been training here for about a year, and we are very happy with the experience. The instructors are patient, professional, and truly great with kids. They focus not only on Jiu-Jitsu skills, but also on discipline, confidence, and respect. Over the past year, I’ve seen clear improvement in my son’s coordination, focus, and self-confidence. He enjoys coming to class and feels encouraged and supported in a positive environment. We really appreciate the structured teaching style and the way the coaches motivate the kids while keeping classes safe and engaging. Highly recommend this Jiu-Jitsu program for families looking for both skill development and character building.

If you’re a parent thinking about putting your kid into Jiu-Jitsu, I can honestly say this place can change your child’s life. My daughter has been training at Gracie Barra Aliso Viejo since she was 4 years old, and the transformation has been incredible to watch. Her confidence grew so much. The way she carries herself, the way she talks, her posture, not just on the mats, but at home and at school, it’s completely different. She became more disciplined, more respectful, and more sure of herself. As a parent, that’s something you can’t put a price on. If you’re on the fence, just try it. It might end up being one of the best decisions you make for your family.

If you are thinking about trying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and have absolutely no experience, this is your sign to just do it 😁 I honestly just made the jump and tried it. No overthinking. I just went for it. It definitely helped having my friend there for my first class, but I was hooked immediately. Joining Gracie Barra Aliso Viejo has honestly been one of the best decisions I have made. I have put my all into this and showed dedication and discipline working my butt off almost a whole month straight. Jiu jitsu challenges you in the best way physically and mentally. Learning the techniques, strategies, and how to react against your opponents has been such a rewarding experience. Every class I leave feeling stronger, more confident, and excited to keep learning. The atmosphere here is honestly infectious. Not only are the professors and coaches incredibly welcoming, but everyone participating makes you feel like you belong too. Whether you are brand new or experienced, people encourage you, help you, and want to see you improve. The fundamentals classes are just the beginning and there is so much to learn. I already cannot wait to compete and continue growing in this journey. I really want to honor the Gracie Barra family because they have built such an encouraging and welcoming environment. Huge thank you to my colleague Brooke Visagie for encouraging me to just try it out. You were absolutely right because I was hooked after the first class. Bonus too, you get to visit other Gracie Barra gyms with your visitor card which is such a cool experience. I love the little quirks each gym does and the different vibes they bring. Shout out to San Clemente and HQ for the opportunities to train and spar at your gyms. I seriously cannot recommend Gracie Barra Aliso Viejo enough. If you have been thinking about trying it, just do it. No experience needed. Everyone starts somewhere and you might just end up hooked like me 😁
