Veterans Community Center Hosts Two-Day Fall Yard Sale Fundraiser

The volunteer-operated Veterans Community Center on Sylvan Road is opening its doors for its annual fall yard sale on Friday, October 2, and Saturday, October 3. The community event runs each day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 6921 Sylvan Road.

Visitors can browse a large outdoor garage sale alongside an indoor estate sale featuring household goods, tools, and specialty items, including a private collection of Elvis Presley memorabilia. Donations from neighbors were collected right up to the start of the event to fill the tables.

The nonprofit center receives no direct government funding, relying instead on donations and neighborhood fundraisers to keep its doors open. Proceeds from the weekend sale go directly toward veteran assistance programs, social meetups, and resource referrals for former service members.
