Tech Entrepreneur Santosh Sahoo Enters Milpitas Mayoral Race

Longtime technology professional and Milpitas resident Santosh Sahoo has joined the ballot for mayor in the upcoming municipal election. To launch his bid, Sahoo bypassed conventional campaign channels to knock on doors across local neighborhoods, speaking directly with residents to collect his qualifying nomination signatures.

Sahoo has spent more than twenty years in corporate leadership roles at major technology companies and now heads a small software firm. Drawing on his background in finance management, he pointed to a detailed line-item review of the city budget as the driving force behind his candidacy, citing a need for greater transparency and financial accountability in local government.

His campaign platform also highlights a goal of restoring stability to City Hall following the departure of several department heads earlier this year. Sahoo faces a competitive field that includes incumbent Mayor Carmen Montano, City Councilmember Hon Lien, and longtime council observer Voltaire Montemayor.
