Ninth Annual Battle of the Bands and BBQ Returns to Rusch Park

Citrus Heights residents can mark their calendars for good food and live tunes as American Legion Post 637 hosts its ninth annual Battle of the Bands and BBQ at the Historic Rusch Home and Gardens on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The afternoon festival runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., with entrance gates opening at 12:30 p.m. A forty-dollar ticket provides unlimited barbecue from five different vendors alongside sides, beverages, and desserts. Children 12 and under can attend for free when accompanied by a paying adult. Guests will also be able to vote for their favorite cooks and musical acts during performances scheduled throughout the afternoon.

Proceeds from the long-running gathering directly fund the organization's Vets Helping Vets initiative, which delivers emergency assistance and local resources to veterans in the area. In addition to music and food, the family-friendly event at 7301 Antelope Road will feature children's activities and raffle baskets.
