Milpitas Wraps Up Pipeline Upgrades and Repaving on Dempsey Road
The city has finished replacing an aging water main and resurfacing the pavement with new bike lanes along Dempsey Road.

The City of Milpitas has announced the completion of extensive utility and roadway improvements along Dempsey Road, bringing an end to several months of local construction.
The project focused on replacing nearly 6,000 feet of underground water pipe that had been in operation for over 50 years. Frequent pipeline breaks in recent years had caused recurring water shutoffs and emergency repair work for nearby residents and local businesses.
After completing the subterranean water main replacement, municipal crews resurfaced the street with fresh asphalt, applied new lane markings, and installed dedicated bike lanes to improve safety for cyclists and drivers. City officials thanked neighbors for navigating detours and road noise while work was underway.
