Mattos Elementary PTA Earns National School of Excellence Distinction
Mattos Elementary School's parent association received national recognition for fostering family engagement and school community partnerships.

The Mattos Elementary School Parent Teacher Association has been named a National PTA School of Excellence, standing out as the only campus in the Fremont Unified School District to achieve the honor this term. The national designation lasts for two years and recognizes parent groups that actively work alongside school staff to deepen family involvement and improve school climate.
To earn the honor, the association collected survey feedback from parents, educators, and staff to guide priorities for the school year. The resulting efforts focused on expanding science enrichment programs, organizing community family nights, and supporting positive behavioral initiatives across the science magnet campus.
Local civic officials and school district trustees presented the PTA executive board with a certificate of recognition this week, commending the group of more than 270 parent members for their dedication to students.
