Longtime Citrus Heights Preschool Shuts Down After 50 Years

Little Friends Learning Center, located on the campus of Friends Church in Citrus Heights, has permanently shut its doors after 50 years of operation. Board leaders noted that the closure followed a steady decrease in student enrollment over recent years.

The decline coincided with the state's rollout of universal transitional kindergarten, which allows younger children to attend free public classrooms in the San Juan Unified School District. The church facility plans to repurpose the former classrooms for upcoming ministry and community activities.
