HERS Breast Cancer Foundation Gears Up for Quarry Lakes Run

The HERS Breast Cancer Foundation is preparing to host its 27th annual Walk and Run fundraiser on Saturday, September 26, at Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area in Fremont. Under this year's superhero theme, 'Hope is Our Superpower,' participants and teams are invited to don costumes as they complete courses along the park's flat lakeside trails.

The morning schedule features a 5K walk, a timed 5K run, and a timed 10K run, as well as a virtual walk option for remote supporters. Prior to the races, survivors and community members will gather for Elaine's Memorial Circle, followed by an outdoor health and wellness expo with local vendors and prize drawings.

Proceeds from registration fees and donations go directly toward post-surgical support, prostheses, and essential care products for breast cancer patients across the East Bay. Organizers are currently seeking additional race participants, course monitors, and event volunteers.
