Fremont Writers Group Hosts Virtual Workshop on Flash Fiction

The Fremont Area Writers group is helping local authors prepare for an upcoming writing contest by hosting an instructional workshop dedicated to flash fiction. Guest author and Stanford continuing education instructor Robert Anthony Siegel will lead the virtual session via Zoom on Saturday, August 22.

Flash fiction challenges authors to build complete, compelling stories within limited word counts, spanning from tiny six-word narratives up to 1,500 words. During the presentation, Siegel will outline structural strategies, examine successful literary examples, and offer practical guidance on publishing short works.

The session precedes an upcoming flash fiction competition co-sponsored by the Fremont Cultural Arts Council and Half Price Books. The workshop is open to Tri-City writers of all experience levels seeking to develop their storytelling craft.
