Fremont Art Association Welcomes Wei-Ting Chuang for Autumn Painting Demo
A guest artist will demonstrate traditional East Asian brushwork and rice paper wash techniques at an upcoming online community meeting.
The Fremont Art Association announced that award-winning painter and educator Wei-Ting Chuang will serve as guest presenter for its general meeting on Wednesday, October 7. The educational demonstration will take place virtually over Zoom from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is open to the public.
Chuang will show attendees how to harness the quiet beauty of the autumn harvest through traditional East Asian brush painting. Using black ink and delicate color washes on rice paper, the artist will break down the techniques used to depict seasonal flora, harvest pumpkins, and birds.
Based in California, Chuang has earned accolades including honors from the Sumi-e Society of America for ink work that bridges classical techniques with regional landscapes. Association leaders hope the workshop will give local art enthusiasts practical tips for exploring traditional ink painting from home.
