Council Rejects Property Owner Appeal Over Antelope Road Abatement Order

The Citrus Heights City Council voted during a special meeting on Wednesday to deny an appeal from a property owner facing an order of abatement at 7398 Antelope Road. The council's decision upholds findings by city code enforcement officers that declared the 1.7-acre lot a public nuisance earlier this spring.

According to city records, the property has been subject to multiple code compliance inspections since 2021. Violations documented by code officers include unpermitted construction, accumulated debris, and roughly ten vehicles and trailers stored improperly on unpaved surfaces. Unpaid fines on the property have grown to over $18,000.

The property owner had appealed the abatement order, arguing that the city regulations were overly restrictive regarding his property rights. With the appeal rejected, the city order remains active, requiring the cleanup and remediation of the site.
