City Manager Highlights Balanced Citrus Heights Budget and Strong Reserves
Citrus Heights officials reported a balanced annual budget with thirty-three million dollars in reserve funds and ongoing investments in local roads and policing.

Citrus Heights City Manager Ashley Feeney recently highlighted the city's adopted 2026-2027 fiscal budget, noting that careful financial planning has kept the local municipal balance sheet healthy. According to city documents, overall revenue for the period exceeds $47 million, supported by steady local sales and property tax receipts.
Public safety remains the single largest expense, accounting for roughly 58 percent of the city's General Fund expenditures. The budget also designates $4 million specifically toward resurfacing and maintaining local residential streets.
City leaders emphasized that Citrus Heights maintains approximately $33 million in reserve accounts. That surplus represents roughly eight and a half months of operational expenses, well above the city's policy requirement to keep a two-month emergency cushion on hand.
