Burglary Spree Damages 25 Pleasanton Businesses Across City
Pleasanton police reported that at least 25 local commercial establishments were broken into during an early morning smash and grab spree.
A wave of commercial break-ins swept through Pleasanton early Thursday morning, leaving business owners to sweep up shattered glass and tally losses. According to the Pleasanton Police Department, at least 25 commercial locations across the city were burglarized, a dramatic spike that matches the total number of commercial burglaries reported in the city throughout all of 2026 prior to this week.
The string of crimes began around 4 a.m., with alarms sounding at retail plazas along Stoneridge Drive and Valley Avenue. In multiple spots, including Pacific Pearl and Mission Plaza, intruders smashed storefront glass to quickly remove cash registers before driving away in a sedan lacking license plates. Officers briefly chased the suspect vehicle along Stanley Boulevard before calling off the pursuit west of Highway 84 out of caution for public safety.
Local restaurant owners and shopkeepers arrived later that morning to discover boarded windows and thousands of dollars in property damage. Authorities continue to review security camera footage and gather physical evidence as the investigation proceeds.
