This was a cozy little pub with a sports vibe with the jerseys, flags and pedal bikes donning the walls and ceiling. Has an “old” feel to it with its creaky wood floors and wooden ceiling. The service was friendly but a bit slow which was fine, I was able to sip and enjoy my brew while I waited for my biscuits and gravy! Located in old town Anacortes, it is minutes away from Cap Sante park and downtown. Parking was available along 4th street.

were visiting the island and this hit the spot. calamari was crispy. we ordered bbq pork shoulder and south of border burgers. meats in our burgers were so juicy and tender. really cool vibe, they even had live music. beers were upnotch.

I was referred to this spot for a good place for fish n chips or burgers by a local whale watch company. I sat solo at the bar & waited 10 minutes for someone to take my drink order. There were 4 people sitting at the bar so it wasn't busy. It was 5 o'clock so some people seated at tables around the bar were ordering. After another 15 minutes I asked if I could order some food. I eventually ordered fish n chips. The fish was good but the chips were a bit greasy.. A bartender took away my empty glass but never asked if I wanted anything else or a refill. There was 1 other person sitting at the bar. If, as a solo visitor you want to be ignored & given bad service go here. I have been here 3 nights & had much better service & food at other places in town. If you are a local you will be greeted & served promptly.

the other day my boyfriend and i came in around 4:30. i got a french dip and he got the wrangler burger and a beer. it was so good!! their tartar sauce is SOOOO tasty and made in house as well according to staff! no wait time since it was only us in the restaurant at that hour, but staff was friendly and cracking jokes amongst each other. love the atmosphere:)

I feel bad for giving a poor review to the Brown Lantern, but it's well deserved tonight. My wife ordered the carne asada tacos. I'm not sure what the meat was but it certainly was not Carne asada, as I would know it. The meat was very dry, very old and reheated. The food was served lukewarm and had a burnt flavor. I ended up sharing my dinner with my wife so that she didn't go home hungry because what was served in the way of tacos was not edible. The staff was very attentive that was working with the public. They did their job fantastically. They had a one-man band musician who was very entertaining and had wonderfully popular songs. He was the highlight of our evening there. The kitchen although needs help. Anacortes has many wonderful restaurants to choose from, and I will not be choosing to go to the Brown Lantern for some time based on the absolute poor quality food that was served tonight.
