We had such an amazing experience here and can’t wait to come back! Driving back to SF from Tahoe, we decided to stop by Powells for lunch. Lucky us that they do barbecued oysters on the 1st Sunday of every month. Don’t miss this! They were absolutely delicious and brought a big smile to my face. They make their own BBQ sauce and had a happy crowd of regulars! The owners were very friendly and warm, sharing fun history about the town and recommendations of what to see. We will definitely bring friends and family next time!

My wife and I stopped in on a whim, Saturday afternoon. Tuna melt was the special AND they had lobster bisque. If they have the lobster bisque (because they don’t always) GET IT! The service was friendly and attentive. A must go for Placerville.

Ordered the Shrimp Avocado sandwich on their famous bread. It was canned shrimp with sliced avocado on some store bought French bread that was dry and not toasted. I definitely will not be returning. My Sister had the same thing and couldn’t get thru the bread.

Service was nice and friendly, oysters was the best part our lunch. Both linguines tasted over cooked, no flavor, felt mushy and soupy disappointed in the main dishes but a good spot for a beer and oysters.

The fresh oysters were amazing. Also, the steamer clams were just perfect. We also had the best clam chowder and excellent crab cakes. Everything was just amazing. Our server was very sweet, attentive and friendly. We had a great experience and cannot wait to go back!!
