鵪鶉蛋豆腐 Quail Egg and Tofu very spicy, no other taste. No salt, no oil only hot . Disgusting, yukky. 蔥油雞 Green Onion Sauce Chicken, no flavor bland. Just boils chicken, 酸菜肚絲 Stir-fried Pork Maws with Pickled Mustard Greens. Pork maws has special flavor like they didn't washed it thoroughly. Spiced tofu is a little bit bigger than your thumb. Bad experience. I will never order anything from this restaurant. Portion is good, because after one bite you don't want to try another one. So it's good enough for ten people.

I had a very upsetting experience at Taiwan Porridge that needs to be addressed. On April 16, 2026 at approximately 8:15 PM, I came in with my young daughter, paid cash for our food, and was not given a receipt. After paying, I was told we could not sit and eat inside. However, shortly after, a group that arrived AFTER us was allowed to sit and dine without any issue. There was no clear explanation given for why the policy applied to me and my child, but not to others. As an African American mother, this felt like unequal and discriminatory treatment. Policies should not change depending on who you are. I did receive a refund, but that does not erase how we were treated. Being denied service while watching others be accommodated—especially with your child present—is unacceptable. I am sharing this so others are aware, and I hope the restaurant takes accountability and ensures fair and consistent treatment for all customers moving forward.

This is a no frills sort of eating place. Service is quick and minimal. Great deal during lunch where you get to pick 3 dishes for a fixed price. The sweet potato porridge is an unlimited refill. They also serve hot tea upon sitting down. You need to let them know up from as you walk in whether you will be dining in or take out. Parking is not too bad, but can be a challenge depending on the time of day.

Porridge and a wide variety of cooked dishes that you can choose from. You can request them to heat up the cooked dishes too. They also have other dishes that are cook-to-order. If you want to have a variety of dishes for one or two persons, I suggest that you go for their lunch before 4pm. Else it’s a great place to share different dishes for a group of 4 and above.
