The basics: - It's a home business located right at Mr Choi's house. The actual place where you get your haircut is a shed in the backyard. You drive through the front gate, park at the front yard, walk into the backyard by pulling a metal wire on a wooden fence located on the left side of the front yard. - It's haircut only, no shampoo, blow dry or styling. - It's $30+tips, cash only. - Mr Choi's native language is Korean but he can speak and understand some English too. Communication could be a problem if it gets complex. The pros: - Mr Choi mainly used a scissor for the haircut. Occasionally he used the electric trimmer. Gives me an old-school craftsmanship vibe. - He takes his time on the haircut and doesn't rush. The cons: - While the haircut itself was fine, it looked NOTHING like the pictures I showed Mr Choi beforehand 😂. Those pictures were my previous haircut not some random styling models. It's unfortunate because it was a decent haircut but it just wasn't what I was looking for. - There wasn't air conditioning during my haircut. It got kind of hot in there since it was afternoon. Random note: I saw a crow chasing a squirrel on the backyard fence during my haircut. Hilarious.

I rarely go out of my way to write reviews, but Mr Choi is an amazing barber and a sincerely kind man. I’ve been going to him for almost 2 years now. While conversing with him I get a sense that he cares deeply about his customers. Mrs Choi is also very kind. My highest regards to them and their quaint business!

I have been coming to Mr. Chois for a couple of years now, and the service has always been excellent. This is an awesome barbershop for the price one pays in Fremont. It will seem strange at the beginning walking into the shop at someone's backyard for a haircut, but the haircuts are totally worth it. The haircuts are mostly scissor based, high skilled and the attention to detail is fantastic. You need an appointment. It helps a lot to speak slowly to Mrs. Chois to setup one. Payment is cash only.
