I visited Paul Martin’s during happy hour and overall, the food was good, but the service really missed the mark. We were seated and ended up waiting over 10 minutes (without menus), before a waiter even greeted us, which set the tone for the rest of the meal. After that, our waiter was switched at least three times throughout the dining experience. Each handoff meant we had to repeat ourselves, track down refills, and wait longer than we should have for basic check ins. To be clear, the kitchen did its part. The food came out tasting fresh and well prepared, and it’s the main reason I would consider giving this place another try. But a restaurant at this level should have smoother front of house coordination, especially during a busy happy hour when guests are expecting quicker service and consistent attention. I’m sharing this in the spirit of helpful feedback because I can see how great this place can be when everything clicks. A little more consistency on the service side and a quicker first greeting would go a long way. I’d happily come back and give it another shot, especially since the food was solid, and I’m hoping next time the service matches it.

This was my first-time at this place yesterday. Birthday celebration at Happy Hour and the food was delicious. I had items on the happy hour menu. The Shrimp Tacos, Deviled Eggs, Cajun Fries, Sweet Potatoe Fries, Housemade Meatballs, Chicken Wings, and Buffalo Cauliflower, birthday dessert was Blonde Brownie topped with vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate syrup. Everything was very delicious and well prepared. Kris G. our server was very nice and he was very attentive to our table and was very hospitable. The manager even came by the table to enquire about our visit and was very engaging. I noticed how all the servers were very nice and friendly towards the customers also. I'm going to recommend this place to some friends I know that love Happy Hour, and also that it's a great place to go for a meal also. One of my guest let me know that, so I plan to visit again and enjoy other kinds of food on the menu, because the observation of what other people were eating let me know the food was good. Came here in an occasion with family. Nice atmosphere, decent service and great food. The premium entrees are very expensive, but they made it worth my while with a high quality steak and some yummy mashed taters. The coffee was mid - burnt drip coffee seems to be the standard for restaurants in LA. For some reason the dessert menu is verbal only - you have to ask them and they don't tell you up front how much those sorts of items cost. I would have appreciated a more complete written menu. Overall a good experience, and I'd consider going back on a date or another occasion.

Excellent service at the bar for happy hour. I thoroughly enjoyed my sandwich + drink combo ($18), which included a salmon avocado sandwich, French fries, and a hazy IPA from LA Aleworks. Everything slapped and I got a chili aioli for extra dipping purposes. Definitely a clean and slightly upscale restaurant with New American fare. Will be back for their happy hour, which runs from 2-6pm Friday-Saturday, 3-6pm Thursday-Sunday!

The NY Strip was fantastic. It took a little long to come out. But it was worth the wait. The manager came over without me even saying a word and gave me $25 off the check because it took longer than usual. That is the way you take care of a customer. I will be back for sure.
