Super disappointing experience here. We had two entrees with the thali added, and we received no riata or achar. The dal was also the consistency of water. Honestly, the entrees had good flavor. Had we gotten only entrees and nothing else we very well might have been satisfied. As it is, we were disappointed.

I regret that my experience here last week was a strange and unpleasant one. I followed the Yelp review and came in here for buffet lunch. I ended up having to eat a 2nd lunch elsewhere AFTER eating all the items other than the rice here! I thought I might have went to a wrong place. Upon checking the photos posted by others, I indeed ate at the Kathmandu kitchen, what happened? The place was dark - inside and outside. I almost missed its front door. There was no other customers during the peak lunch hours - that should have been a cue ! The food was served on a stainless steel tray with multiple dividers - very shallow, less then 1" in height. There is no buffet as mentioned by another reviewer. Instead, I was suggested to add a $6 or so supplement to my Paneer dish for Naan, Veg Curry. I did, and the so called Veg Curry was actually just some potato with peas. Even after getting my vegetarian order, the wait person still tried to suggest that I got a meat dish instead - another cue! With me being the only customer, she placed me on the table right by the pathway to the kitchen, so I heard all the talks from the staff. I started wondering how bad this one would go next. After the end, she surprisingly suggested that I took home the untouched rice. Why? To save the dish washing time? I ate my Paneer dish with heavy Tomato sauce that tasted like concentrated Spicy Tomato soup. l paid, gave her a 10% plus tip, I then got myself another lunch.

I visited this restaurant based on the positive reviews, but unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. While the kadai prawns had a decent curry taste, they were disappointingly undercooked and had a strong smell. The aloo paratha was okay, but nothing exceptional. Moreover, I was surprised that rice wasn't included as a side dish for the curries, forcing us to order it separately. The ambience and lighting were also lacking, contributing to a dull atmosphere. Overall, the food was mediocre with good service, and improvements are needed in both the quality of dishes and the dining environment. P.S- place does not serve halal meat.

Best Lamb Curry in Davis. I eat Lamb Curry everywhere I go and this one was pretty solid. Also, I can’t say enough about the service. I showed up fairly close to closing and they were visibly wrapping up the place. I told them I would leave and they insisted I stay and were very kind and prompt. Great experience all around.

Delicious food and amazing service. We had some very specific requests and they were polite and accommodating. Highly recommend their lamb.
