had a great experience with Autohaus Schmid working on my 1994 Mercedes-Benz S500 (W140). They took care of several important items on the car, including the accelerator pedal system and the nitrogen chambers for the suspension, and I’m extremely happy with the work. It can be difficult to find a shop that truly understands and is willing to work on an older Mercedes like the W140, but Autohaus Schmid made the whole experience easy and straightforward. Paul, the owner, and his son Josh were both incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and easy to work with. They took the time to communicate with me and made me feel confident that my S500 was in good hands. You can tell they take pride in their work and understand these classic German cars. My S500 is an important car to me, so finding a shop I can trust means a lot. I highly recommend Autohaus Schmid to anyone looking for quality Mercedes-Benz service, especially if you own an older or classic Mercedes. Thank you Paul, Josh, and the Autohaus Schmid team for taking such great care of my S500. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Absolute best and most trustworthy. Paul and his crew are hands down the most honest and professional I've ever dealt with. They have serviced 4 or 5 of my cars over the last 20+ years and will continue to do so.

Outstanding! A classic "getting ox out of the ditch". We had flown into San Jose and were driving north when we realized our rental Land Rover needed a key battery - and was annoyingly being reminded frequently by the rental SUV... Pulled off of 101 onto Broadway, hoping to find a European Auto Dealer to try to locate a battery instead of returning to San Jose. Saw Autohaus, pulled in, explained our dilemma, and owner immediately offered to help, was able to determine the correct battery, which he had in inventory. Pleasant and enjoyable to talk with, he replaced the battery and we were on our way - and he refused to take any payment for the part. As luck would have it, I had lived only a few blocks away some 60 years ago, when Burlingame and the entire area was quieter - a simpler time, and a great area. I/we really appreciate the timely effort on our behalf. I'm only sorry that we live on the other side of the US, otherwise both of our German cars would be routinely serviced here... Very highly recommended.

This was our first visit to Autohaus Schmid. We have been very disappointed with the main Mercedes dealer and other garages around the San Mateo area. As soon as we met Paul, we realized that we had come to the right place to get our Mercedes serviced. We got an estimate of costs upfront, which was not possible with some other garages. Very friendly team and very professional. We found out that it is a family business, around 50 years old. To stay in business that long you must be good. Mechanics get a proper wage and don’t work on commissions, so they are not recommending unnecessary work. We have no hesitation in recommending Autohaus Schmid. Final price was as anticipated and the service was far better than we had at the main dealer. Look forward to seeing you next year for our service. Can you do Hondas as well? If so, I bringing that to you to service.

I heard some noise when braking and I call Josh at Autohaus Schmid on Wednesday, and he was able to take me in on Thursday and take care of my brake problems. Like always, when there is an issue with my car, they will immediately take me and resolve the issue. I am a female driver and know nothing on car. Their immediate attention to my car is greatly appreciated.
