Danville’s Two High School Football Teams Start the Season 4–0

Danville football is off to a strong start this fall, with both San Ramon Valley High School and Monte Vista High School opening the 2026 season with perfect 4–0 records.

The two programs reached that mark after convincing wins on September 18, giving local football fans plenty to celebrate as the season moves toward league play.

San Ramon Valley Moves to 4–0

The San Ramon Valley Wolves continued their unbeaten run with a dominant 42–7 victory over Clovis North.

SRV jumped ahead early, scoring 14 points in the first quarter and another 21 in the second to take control before halftime. The Wolves entered the fourth quarter with a 42–0 lead before Clovis North scored its only touchdown of the night.

Through four games, San Ramon Valley has scored 189 points while allowing just 41.

Their first four wins came against:

  • El Cerrito, 41–14
  • Enochs, 54–13
  • Clayton Valley Charter, 52–7
  • Clovis North, 42–7

Monte Vista Also Stays Perfect

Across town, the Monte Vista Mustangs improved to 4–0 with a 41–21 win over James Logan on September 18.

The Mustangs have put together a strong opening stretch of their own, scoring 133 points while allowing 52 through their first four games.

Monte Vista’s wins include:

  • Marin Catholic, 27–10
  • Liberty, 30–14
  • Campolindo, 35–7
  • James Logan, 41–21

Two Danville Teams Near the Top of the Section

The strong starts have also placed both Danville programs high in the early North Coast Section rankings.

As of September 20, San Ramon Valley was ranked No. 3 in the North Coast Section, with Monte Vista directly behind at No. 4. In the Division 2 rankings, SRV held the No. 1 spot and Monte Vista was No. 2.

More Football Ahead

Neither team has reached league play yet, so plenty of the season remains.

San Ramon Valley’s next scheduled game is at home against Foothill on September 25, while Monte Vista travels to face Dublin the same night.

And local fans already have one date worth circling: San Ramon Valley and Monte Vista are scheduled to face each other on November 6, setting up what could become one of Danville’s biggest football nights of the season.
