Alameda’s Tilden Way Roundabout Opens as Blanding Avenue Detour Continues
Alameda’s project page says the Tilden Way roundabout and Fernside approach are open, while part of Blanding Avenue remains closed for construction.

The roundabout at Tilden Way, Blanding Avenue and Fernside Boulevard is open to vehicles, according to Alameda’s current Clement Avenue/Tilden Way project page. The Fernside Boulevard approach to Tilden Way has also reopened.
Construction continues in Stage 5B. Blanding Avenue between Broadway and Tilden Way remains closed, with this stage expected to finish in early 2027. The city cautions that closure durations can change.
Drivers accessing Blanding Avenue should use Broadway and the new westbound-only Clement Avenue roadway, the city says. Bridgeside Shopping Center remains open and can be reached using the Clement Avenue extension and Broadway.
Pedestrian crossings between Blanding Avenue and Fernside Boulevard remain closed during this stage. The city’s project page includes separate circulation, pedestrian and school-route maps.
Cyclists should also check the updated guidance: the temporary trail on the west side of Tilden Way is closed while that area is under construction.
Residents planning a trip through the area should consult the official maps for their mode of travel and follow posted construction signs.
